Metlife Prepares Local Girl Scouts for Financial Empowerment

The world’s current economic challenges have made one thing clear: Financial literacy skills matter now more than ever.

Miamisburg, OH—On August 3, 60 Girl Scouts in grades 6-8 from Hamilton, Middletown, Franklin, Carlisle, and West Carrolton, OH, participated in the MetLife Financial Empowerment Day event at the MetLife office.

Metlife staff planned the entire day and volunteered to teach girls about personal finance, financial giving, and planning and budgeting for their dream home and vacations. Girls also learned about careers from a panel of MetLife leadership.

The girls who participated in the program earned their Financing My Dream badge. Sessions were taught by Metlife volunteers, who gave the girls the knowledge and tools to make wise financial decisions.

The event was funded by a grant from the MetLife Foundation and Girl Scouts of the USA.
