Girl Scouts Honor 2018 Women of Distinction


2018 Women of Distinction

Cincinnati, OH — On Tuesday, March 13, five local community leaders were recognized as 2018 Women of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.

This year's honorees are women who have made significant contributions in one or more key focus areas for success:

S.T.E.M. Honoree

Bleuzette Marshall, University of Cincinnati
Healthy Living Honoree

D. Lynn Meyers, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati
Community Responsibility Honoree

Janet Butler Reid, BRBS WORLD, LLC.
Leadership Honoree

The Women of Distinction award was established to honor the many exceptional women in our community who are paving the way for girls. These local women give hope and inspiration to girls through their achievements and passion for our communities.

"Recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of women is important for every community," said Roni Luckenbill, CEO of Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. "For Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, honoring women in leadership–these women–is a critical part of our mission and our commitment to girls."

The dinner and awards program was emceed by Lisa Smith, On-Air Talent for WCPO-TV, 9 On Your Side. Whitney Weiss, a Senior at Mariemont High School and 12-year Girl Scout from Troop 47305, was the keynote speaker. The event, made possible by generous individuals and event sponsors, generated over $76,000.
