Service Unit Spotlight

We know that you are doing amazing things in your service unit—we want to know more about them and share them with others! Has your service unit done a fun, girl-led event? Had an amazing recruitment? Opportunities for leaders to learn and connect?

Send us a brief synopsis of the event with a picture, and it could be posted on our website and in our monthly newsletter!

Halloween "Mask"querade Party
Service Unit 467 - Singing Oaks

Troop 49837 hosted a fantastic event for the girls in our Service Unit. They worked hard to abide by the COVID-19 safety protocols including temperature checks, mask wearing, sanitizing, and social distancing. More than 100 girls attended the event, where they moved between activity stations, having fun and learning about our founder, Juliette Gordon Low. There was a fun costume contest, and afterwards, we involved the families in a Trunk or Treat.

This activity helped welcome girls back to the Girl Scout year, taught them about Juliette Gordon Low, and even included some family involvement.

Birthday in a Bag
Service Unit 440 - Cedar City

Service Unit 440 gathered donations and supplies to donate Birthday in a Bag kits to food pantries in Morrow, Waynesville, Lebanon, and Franklin! The bags included all the birthday supplies people will need—cake, frosting, candles, and decorations!

The kits will be included in the Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes, and the pantries were very grateful for the support from Girl Scouts!
