Join us at the Walter H. Rice Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse as we learn about the federal judicial branch by touring the courts, meeting various staff, observe a mock criminal hearing, a naturalization ceremony at Sinclair Community College, and explore financial literacy topics with the bankruptcy court. Girls will complete step 5 of the Democracy badge: Find out about the federal judicial branch.
Attendees over the age of 18 will need to bring a photo ID (optional for youth if they do not have one), pass through airport-style security (including metal detectors), dress respectfully (no shorts or jeans), and wear appropriate footwear for walking from the courthouse to Sinclair Community College. Bring a sack lunch (refrigeration is not available). This is an optional drop-off event. Girl Scout staff will be present to supervise youth attendees. Additional paperwork is required for drop-off.
