SHOW GRATITUDEJamie Gill | SU 112
Jamie has been a amazing support training me and showing me the ropes of being a Leader she opened me and my daughter into her meetings with open arms and included us in all her plans she is definitely the definition of "Be a sister to every scout"
Megan Black-Striley | SU 330
Megan’s recent initiatives have not only exemplified the core values of the Girl Scout mission but have also addressed critical community needs with compassion, education, and leadership. Megan went above and beyond by conceptualizing, coordinating, and hosting a "Period Party" that brought together 40 girls from across Miami County and neighboring regions. Recognizing the importance of health literacy, Megan collaborated with local healthcare professionals to provide a safe, supportive environment where girls could learn about menstruation and the natural development of their bodies. By removing the stigma surrounding these topics, Megan provided these young women with the confidence and knowledge they need to navigate adolescence with dignity. Each participant left not only with a personal period kit but also with educational materials to ensure they have continued support at home. Megan’s impact extended far beyond the walls of the event. She turned this educational opportunity into a powerful service project by organizing a large-scale women’s hygiene supply drive. Through her coordination and community outreach, she secured enough donations to assemble over 300 period kits. These kits will donated to Period Kits Ohio, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to ending period poverty across the state. Megan’s efforts directly support the health and hygiene of hundreds of women and girls, demonstrating a profound commitment to social stewardship and community well-being. Megan Black-Striley is the embodiment of a "sister to every Girl Scout." Her ability to pair hands-on education with high-impact community service is truly remarkable. She has fostered a spirit of advocacy and care that will resonate with these 40 girls and the community. Megan is exceptionally deserving of the Volunteer of the Quarter award for her dedication, her organizational excellence, and her heart for service.
Sarah Combs | SU 448
Cadette Troop 4504 spent the holiday season making and delivering fruit baskets to an elderly neighborhood in Mason, Ohio. For the past 19 years, the Norris family has spent one weekend each December purchasing fruit, building fruit baskets, and hand-delivering them to elderly residents at Deerfield Commons in Mason, Ohio. I have had the opportunity to spend my youth and adult years assisting with this and to involve my children in the tradition. To help our troop learn how to give back to the community, the Norris family has invited us to participate in this event a few times. To bring some additional holiday joy, the girls of the troop spent one meeting hand-making holiday cards for each basket. This past year, 3 girls from our troop spent their Saturday afternoon helping to build 80 fruit baskets and then delivered them to each resident. The residents enjoyed seeing the girls and receiving the gift of love. The girls ended the afternoon singing Christmas carols as they made their way back to the community center in the heart of the neighborhood.
Stephanie Blue | SU 131
Stephanie has been an incredible asset to Service Unit 131, stepping up whenever needed and always going above and beyond. She brings strong organizational skills to her role as a product coordinator, supporting multiple troops through cookie season and beyond. Stephanie has also volunteered as an adult chaperone for local camps, helped organize cookie rallies, and assisted with various troop events and meetings. Her dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in wherever needed make her an invaluable part of the Service Unit, service team, and troops!
Laura McGee Reyno | SU 342
Laura is in her second year as a Girl Scout troop leader and has already made a big impact. This year, she expanded her troop to welcome even more girls to the Girl Scout experience. Laura also serves on the service unit committee, where she focuses on recruitment and managing finances as treasurer. With a passion for making Girl Scouts fun and meaningful, she designs each meeting around badge opportunities while encouraging the girls to live by the Girl Scout Promise.
Reva Feltner | SU 448
Reva has gone above and beyond this year as a Girl Scout leader. She started a brand new Daisy troop and even launched a special “Pixies” summer camp for siblings of Girl Scouts — a fun and creative way to introduce new families to the program. Reva is a dedicated role model who leads with kindness, listens with care, and brings fresh ideas to every meeting. She truly embodies the Girl Scout mission of making the world a better place and being a sister to every Girl Scout.
