Test your troop's outdoor skills in this ultimate cold weather contest. Compete against other troops, racing across camp and completing challenges on topics ranging from first aid, lashing, orienteering, team building, and much more. Your troop will receive a map with an assigned route to stations that must be completed in a specific order. Each station will be judged and points awarded based on how well tasks are completed as well as aspects of leadership, teamwork, and Girl Scout spirit. Registered troops should review the confirmation packet found in activities as it contains more details in order to better prepare for the event. Cost includes patch.

Discover the world of nutrition and find ways to make snacks that are both delicious and healthy. Daisies and Brownies will learn the basics of cooking, and healthy eating in this introductory course. Girls will complete steps towards the Brownie Snacks badge as they prepare a healthy snack to enjoy at the end of the workshop. Please notify GSWO if there are any food allergies no less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the workshop. Badge not included.

In this introductory cooking course, Juniors will have the chance to learn all about preparing meals that are both healthy and delicious. Learn tips to be safe in the kitchen, and prepare easy meals that will nourish your body. Girls will earn steps towards the Junior Simple Meals badge and leave with the skills to make healthy food choices. Badge not included. Get a jump on the Cadette aMaze Journey and spend the weekend navigating the twists and turns of friendship, discovering how to create peace together, and earning the “Peacemaker�? and “Interact�? awards. Kappa Delta sisters & Community Partners will help run Journey programming throughout the weekend. Girls will complete most of the Journey with the exception of implementing their Take-Action Project. Attending adults will participate in their own concurrent programming on mentoring Cadettes. Pre-and post-work is required to complete the “Diplomat�? Award. Cost includes the Journey book for Girl Scouts & registered adults, award set, Saturday meals, and breakfast Sunday morning. Further details will be provided in the confirmation packet prior to the retreat. Note: participants must attend the entire weekend; they may not arrive late or leave early.

Required for at least one troop adult prior to reserving a council outdoor camping unit. This training will give you the skills to camp in all camp facilities, including platform tents, wagons, personal tents and other outdoor units. Spend the day on campout planning, tent care and basic outdoor skills including fire building, cooking, knots, knives, Leave No Trace practices, map and compass, nature activities, and more. Prerequisite: Complete Troop Trip Training and Lodge Camp Training (See Lodge Camp Training listing for more info). "

Our camps have beautiful forested back-country with a host of trails running through it, which are in need of some tender loving care. If you and/or your troop enjoys being outdoors on a beautiful day and would like some service hours – this is a great opportunity to give back to a camp everyone loves! Join us at 10 am and stay as long as you’d like. Lunch is provided for all workers and the day wraps up at 3 pm. Participants will trim and mark sections of the trail. This is not heavy duty trail clearing, but mainly using loppers or hand saws to trim back the smaller branches from the existing trails. While this work suits Juniors and up best, Brownies are welcome to participant as much as they can! You will be assigned a portion of the trail to trim and mark. Be prepared to hike a ways, carrying loppers, saws, water, etc.

This is not intended to be a mother/daughter event; please limit the number of adults to allow for the maximum number of troops to participate. Troops MUST attend with Troop Camp Trained adult.

Then scale 30-feet into the air and conquer the high challenge courses and finally take a trip down the zip line. Girls may get to attempt additional climbing elements available at the camp time permitting.

Join our team of Girl Scout Learning Facilitators, a group of adult members dedicated to supporting others through training on a variety of topics such as grade-level guidance, Girl Scout journeys, outdoor skills and more. Those interested in becoming a learning facilitator are required to first complete an online training session, then the in-person training. This training will focus on techniques and skills used when presenting and training adults, and to review the training materials for non-outdoor and outdoor specific topics (leadership awards, highest awards, basic outdoor skills/progression, troop camp training, etc.). "The Ohio River Paddlefest is recognized as the nation’s largest paddling celebration with over 2,200 participants traveling 9 miles through downtown Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky in canoes, kayaks, and other human-powered craft. Meet the night before at Camp Whip Poor Will to review your canoe skills, then leave early the next morning to head to the great Ohio River. Once on the river, feel its mighty power and beauty first hand. At the end of the paddle, check out the many vendors before heading back to camp. Prerequisite: Canoeing Basics "
