Thinking about pursuing the Silver or Gold Award but donât know where to start? The Community Impact Meetup is a great opportunity to learn more about community networking and find inspiration for your next Highest Awards project!
At these fun events we will meet with different community organizations to do a service project and learn about how they are creating sustainable solutions to community problems.

Holocaust & Humanity Center
Feb 13 | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Cincinnati |Â Register
Learn about the history of the Holocaust & Humanity Center,
receive a tour and participate in an advocacy workshop led by a
professional from the organization. Get inspired for your Silver or
Gold Award. Participants will go home with a Community Impact Meet-Up Patch.
EarthConnection
Feb 26 | 2 - 4 p.m. | Cincinnati |Â Register
EarthConnection, a ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati,
is a center for learning and reflection about living lightly on Earth.
Seeking  to integrate spirituality and sustainability through programs
in sustainable agriculture, alternative energies, ecojustice, and
eco-spirituality, is their mission. Learn about the history of the
organization, receive a tour, and participate in a service learning
activity. Get inspired for your Silver or Gold Award. Participants
will go home with a Community Impact Meet-Up Patch and a special
"EarthConnection" patch!
Sunshine Communities
Mar 5 | 2 - 4 p.m. | Toledo |Â Register
Sunshine Communities, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in Toledo that
supports people of all ages with developmental disabilities. At our
Community Impact Meetup, Girl Scouts will be able to tour Sunshine's
main campus, learn about the work they do in the community, and then
get to spend a fun afternoon completing a short service project.
Participants can use this day as an opportunity to brainstorm ideas
for their Silver or Gold Awards.
Clothes That Work
Mar 12 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Dayton |Â Register
At our community impact meetup at Clothes That Work in Dayton, Ohio,
CSA Girl Scouts will go on a tour, help with a service project, and
learn how this local organization is part of building sustainable
solutions to community problems like gaining employment. Part of our
community impact meetup series of events, girls can come to one event
or attend all of them in this group. Please dress appropriately for
helping out in the boutique and warehouse this day. Use this day of
service to get inspired for your Silver or Gold Award!
Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati
March 20 | 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. |Â Register
Autism Society Greater Cincinnati (ASGC) has been a part of the autism
community for 50 years, providing resources, support, and activities
for families all along the spectrum. Come learn more about autism and
leave with ways to better support people with autism. Participants
will go home with a Community Impact Meetup patch.
La Soupe
Apr 2 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | Cincinnati |Â Register
Come join us to learn how La Soupe bridges the gap between food waste
and hunger by rescuing perishables from farms, grocers and
wholesalers. Chefs and volunteers transform this food into healthy
soupes and meals that are distributed to help feed the hungry.
Toledo GROWs
Apr 30 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. |Â Register
Toledo GROWs is an organization dedicated to community gardens and
supports over 125 different gardens in and around Toledo. The urban
farm downtown serves as a hub for the organization. Come learn about
their mission and participate in a service project! Participants will
go home with a Community Impact Meet-Up Patch.
Mental Health Heroes
May 3 | 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. | Virtual |Â Register
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Girl Scouts is partnering
with Dayton Childrenâs Hospital to raise awareness about this
important topic and promote positive mental health practices among our
youth. Youâll hear from professional women who are advocating and
impacting their communitiesâ mental health in innovative and creative
ways. Join us for our âMental Health Heroesâ panel where you will meet
and learn from inspiring women who are making the world a better place!
Ohio AlleyCat Rescue
May 5 | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Cincinnati |Â Register
Ohio Alleycat Resource (OAR) and Spay and Neuter Clinic is a
non-profit with a mission "to enrich the lives of cats and
communities in Greater Cincinnati by providing low-cost, high-quality
spay/neuter services for ferals, strays and pets; offering TNR
(trap-neuter-return) and other outreach programs; and running a
no-kill adoption center dedicated to finding loving homes." Come
learn more about this great organization, get some time to snuggle
cats, and leave with ways to better support your community with this
mission. This event is an opportunity for Cadettes, Seniors, Â and
Ambassadors. Participants will go home with a Community Impact Meetup Patch.
