Oh, the places you'll go!

Local, national, and international adventures

One of the best parts of Girl Scouting is having the opportunity to explore new places and cultures. Whether you're interested in traveling as a troop, on your own, or with an international tour company, you'll find your next destination here.

Where can you travel? Places like China, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Patagonia, Peru, Scotland, Germany, Mexico, and more! Explore the sections below to find out which travel opportunity is the best fit for your grade and comfort level.

As a troop, you can embark on all sorts of adventures together! Whether you’re visiting your favorite Ohio landmark, taking in a Broadway show in New York City, or visiting the birthplace of Girl Scouts in Savannah, Georgia, you'll make everlasting memories and gain a new perspective on the places around you. Plus, you can plan even bigger adventures around the world!

You'll plan the trip based on your comfort level (our travel progression chart will provide some helpful insights). Then, your adult volunteers will need to take the steps below to help get you on your way!

Chicago Summer 2027

Join us for a long weekend in Chicago, Friday through Monday, in summer 2027! This trip is open to JCSA troops and CSA Juliettes. Chaperones will be provided for Juliettes, and registered adult Girl Scouts may also attend.

Girls should have previous overnight experience. The group will travel and stay together, while troops can choose to participate in group activities or explore Chicago on their own.

The trip will depart from the Toledo area. A deposit will be due in December 2026, with final payments due in April 2027. Trip details, including the itinerary and budget, will be shared as planning continues.

This experience is designed to help girls build confidence and independence through travel while learning to plan, budget and explore together.

Before registering, please review the GSUSA Guide to U.S. Travel and complete the “Am I Ready to Travel?” survey with your troop.

How to Get Started toggle arrow
Your troop is excited to start their next adventure and strengthen their sisterhood by traveling together. How can your leaders support you? Ask your troop volunteers to follow the steps below to make sure your troop has everything you need to have a safe trip and make unforgettable memories.

  • Complete the Safety Beyond the Troop Meeting on gsLearn (for your reference Troop Trips and Travel Manual)
  • Fill out the Troop Trip and Activity Notification Form to get council approval and guidance.

Once your leaders have taken these steps to prepare, your troop will be on the way to new experiences!
